Located just a stone’s throw away from Araneta Coliseum, the New Frontier Cinema and Theater now features a new look–and a new name, Kia Theater. This seemingly nondescript landmark is one of the oldest structures in Araneta Center, and Quezon City.
1. It was renamed to Kia Theatre when the Araneta Group reached a five-year licensing deal with Columbian Autocar Corporation (CAC), the distributor and assembler of Kia Motors in the Philippines. The renovated theater will feature a 305.96 sqm showroom Kia showroom as part of the agreement.
2. It once held the distinction of being the largest in the country when it opened in 1965 with a seating capacity of over 3,500.
3. The renovation cost is estimated to be Php500 Million, according to Araneta Group CEO, Chairman, and President Jorge Araneta.
4. The newly renovated theater has a seating capacity of 2,385 after it reopened on September 1, 2015.
